Our Vision
A world where every person with disability is empowered through innovation, inclusion, and recognition.
Our Story
We adopt the social model of disability — where challenges faced by persons with disabilities are due to barriers in the environment and society, not because of the individual.
Most people associate assistive technology with expensive tools. But across the world, persons with disabilities and their support networks create low-cost solutions that break these barriers and help them live, work, and thrive with independence.
Born out of Project Discovery in India, an initiative to collect grassroots assistive solutions, the idea quickly resonated with the global community. Discovery Awards, now an international movement, exists to restore agency to the community, bringing visibility and recognition to these real-world innovators.

How Discovery Awards Works
Discovery Awards operates through a global ecosystem of country partners and DA Partners, supported by an expert international jury.
Local Submissions
Persons with disabilities or their supporters submit short videos to their country’s partner.
Country-Level Selection
Each partner reviews and selects two top solutions from their region.
Global Jury Evaluation
An international panel evaluates shortlisted solutions and selects the winners.
Recognition & Impact
Winners are invited to present at the prestigious Zero Project Conference in Vienna—sharing their story with a global audience.
